Job Description We are seeking an experienced Lead Facility Safety Engineer to provide nuclear facility safety technical support for U.S. Department of Energy nuclear facilities at the Y-12 National Security Complex. This individual will support facility safety activities within the 9212 or 9215 Complexes and must possess extensive experience in DOE nuclear safety analysis, hazard evaluation, accident analysis, and safety basis documentation.

12 months, extend up to 3 years Key Responsibilities Provide nuclear facility safety technical support for the management of DOE nuclear facilities. Perform work in accordance with 10 CFR 830, Subpart B and applicable DOE standards, including DOE-STD-3009-94 and

DOE-STD-1189-2008.

Lead and support hazard identification, hazard screening, and hazard evaluation activities. Conduct accident analysis and consequence analysis for postulated nuclear facility events. Evaluate and select engineered and administrative controls used to prevent or mitigate potential accidents. Develop and maintain safety basis documentation, including: Safety Analysis Reports Documented Safety Analyses Technical Safety Requirements Address technical issues raised by the U.S. Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board that pertain to DOE nuclear facilities. Serve as a Lead Facility Safety Engineer supporting either the 9212 or 9215 Complex. Provide senior-level technical leadership and direction related to nuclear facility safety and safety analysis engineering. Minimum of 15 years of direct Nuclear or Safety Analysis Engineering experience. Minimum of 10 years of DOE-specific experience.
