Job Description

Senior Nuclear Scientist Kalman & Company is seeking to hire an experienced Senior Nuclear Scientist. This will be a full-time position with on-site support required in Addison, TX, and the Dallas Metro Area. Advanced training, experience, and knowledge in the field of nuclear spectroscopy as demonstrated in the resume by a minimum of an advanced degree in Nuclear Physics or Nuclear Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of documented experience in airborne applications of gamma-ray spectroscopy and airborne applications of spectroscopy.
Responsibilities:
Operations, set-up, calibration, diagnostics, and inventory of radiological instrumentation and materials Advise the government client on radiological instrumentation employment and results analysis Conduct radiological analysis, including report generation and presentation to senior leadership Requirements US Citizenship is required Advanced degree in Nuclear Engineering, Physics or Health Physics Minimum 5 years airborne gamma measurements Minimum 2 years of gamma spectroscopy experience in a laboratory or similar setting Experience with MCNP or similar codes, calculations for MDA of airborne spectrometers or other similar analyses Experience in gamma spectroscopic analysis of uranium, thorium and series progeny Strong analytical, report writing, and presentation skills Ability to travel to support emergency response missions as necessary (minimal travel) Desired Qualifications Located near the Addison, TX area. Three to five years of experience in nuclear instrumentation quality assurance Previous or current training in DOT shipping requirements for radioactive material Spectroscopic experience with scintillators (NaI, LaBr) and solid-state detectors Familiarity with secular equilibrium and its effects on spectral analysis
