Job Summary A commercial nuclear power generation organization is hiring a Field Engineer to support pre-outage planning and execution of a Main Generator Replacement outage in Surry, Virginia. This onsite role will serve as a cross-functional field resource responsible for coordinating multiple engineering disciplines, overseeing OEM activities, monitoring schedule execution, troubleshooting field issues, and supporting alignment across plant, engineering, vendor, and field teams. The Field Engineer may also support the outage as an Outage Shift Lead. Responsibilities Coordinate field activities across mechanical, electrical, I&C, and other disciplines to maintain alignment with the outage schedule. Oversee and coordinate OEM field activities associated with the Main Generator Replacement. Monitor schedule progress, identify activities at risk, and escalate potential critical-path impacts before they affect execution. Troubleshoot technical, field, and schedule issues throughout pre-outage planning and outage execution. Interface with plant personnel, engineering teams, OEM resources, and field personnel. Support complex, multidisciplinary field activities in a highly regulated, schedule-driven environment. Potentially serve as an Outage Shift Lead during outage execution. Qualifications Large-scale outage, major capital project, or similarly complex field execution experience where schedule performance and cross-functional coordination were critical. Commercial nuclear outage experience with the ability to operate effectively in a highly regulated, schedule-driven plant environment. Demonstrated experience coordinating multiple technical disciplines and resolving field issues beyond a single engineering specialty. Experience with multidiscipline mechanical, electrical, and I&C coordination. Experience monitoring outage schedules and identifying critical-path risks. Technical troubleshooting and field problem-solving experience. OEM/vendor field activity coordination experience. Ability to work extended outage hours and shift schedules throughout the assignment. Ability to successfully complete required background screening for unescorted nuclear facility access. Main generator or generator replacement project experience preferred. OEM equipment or field activity experience preferred. Extended Power Uprate (EPU) project experience preferred. Steam generator project experience preferred. Previous Outage Shift Lead experience preferred. Experience keeping complex, multidisciplinary field projects aligned with aggressive outage schedules preferred.
