Our Nuclear Safety organization is seeking a dynamic Nuclear Safety Engineer/Analyst who has the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment to develop, implement, and maintain high-quality, compliant safety basis documents. Our mission is to develop and maintain policies, procedures, and training to ensure Nuclear Safety policies and programs are developed and implemented in accordance with 10CFR830, Subpart B, Safety Basis Requirements and implementing DOE Orders. Under the direction of your supervisor and in accordance with company procedures, as a Nuclear Safety Engineer (Early Career) on our team, responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:- Support the development of safety basis documents for CPCCo managed nuclear facilities, which comply with 10 CFR 830, DOE Standards, and CPCCo procedures.
- Performing engineering calculations and analyses and prepare engineering and nuclear safety documents that meet requirements of CPCCo procedures, DOE orders and standards, and industry codes and standards.
- Developing and maintaining nuclear safety documents including Documented Safety Analyses, Technical Safety Requirements, Hazard Analysis and Control Decision Documents.
- Interfacing with colleagues and cross disciplinary teams to resolve nuclear safety issues.
- Conducting daily to weekly written and verbal communication with CPCCo Engineering, Operations, Work Management, and other support organizations.
- Supporting project and facility operations and work management through reviews for nuclear safety compliance and Unreviewed Safety Question evaluations.
- Expanding professional and technical abilities through company provided training, qualification, and professional development programs and opportunities. Basic Qualifications
- Early Career Level Grade 14: Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering.
- Early Career Level Grade 15: Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering with 1 or more years of relevant experience. The higher posted level has greater scope, complexity, authority, impact. The level offered to the selected candidate will be based on the needs of the company and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience. Desired Qualifications
- Experience in nuclear industry, such as commercial or military nuclear power.
- Experience performing unreviewed safety questions.
- Early Career Level Grade 14: $81,500 - $103,750.
- Early Career Level Grade 15: $81,500 - $114,100.
