Job Description
Akkodis is seeking an Optical Test Engineer II for a Contract with a client in Cupertino, CA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for optical sensor integration, testing, validation, failure analysis, and collaborating across engineering teams to drive product performance and manufacturability.

Rate Range:
$80/Hour to $88/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Optical Test Engineer II Job Responsibilities include: Design, integrate, test, and validate next-generation optical sensing systems for high-volume manufacturing. Perform failure mode analysis, root-cause investigations, and system-level troubleshooting to improve sensor performance and reliability. Develop and execute optical characterization, testing, and data analysis using tools such as Python, MATLAB, Zemax, and LightTools. Analyze engineering and manufacturing data to optimize product design, manufacturability, and validation processes. Collaborate with Optical, Mechanical, Electrical, and Process Engineering teams to deliver innovative sensing solutions. Support product development, supplier engagements, and manufacturing activities through domestic and international travel as required.Required Qualifications:
B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Optics, Physics, Optical Engineering, or a related field. 3+ years of industry experience in optical sensing, optical system design, testing, validation, or manufacturing support (advanced degree may offset experience requirements). Strong background in optics, optical sensors, optical measurements, and detector technologies. Hands-on experience with Python, MATLAB, C/C++, C#, or similar tools for lab automation, data collection, modeling, and analysis. If you are interested in this role, then please clickAPPLY NOW.
