The role involves optical modeling, testing, alignment, calibration, and qualification activities while driving root cause investigations, product improvements, and manufacturing support. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product performance, quality, reliability, and compliance throughout the product lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Lead optical system design, modeling, analysis, and optimization for flow cytometry instruments and subsystems. Develop and execute optical testing, integration, alignment, calibration, and qualification plans. Analyze system performance and troubleshoot optical issues through root cause investigations. Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and implement design improvements to enhance product reliability and performance. Evaluate, qualify, and select optical components, suppliers, and manufacturing processes. Support product validation, verification, and performance characterization activities. Collaborate with R D, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and Project Management teams. Support New Product Introduction (NPI), product transfers, engineering changes, and lifecycle management activities. Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and technical decision-making processes. Ensure compliance with applicable quality, regulatory, and industry standards. Skill Requirements Strong knowledge of optical system design, imaging, illumination, and photonics principles. Experience with optical modeling, simulation, and optimization tools. Hands-on experience with optical alignment, calibration, integration, and testing. Knowledge of lasers, detectors, lenses, filters, mirrors, fiber optics, and optical sensors. Experience with flow cytometry instruments or similar analytical/medical instrumentation. Understanding of optical component qualification and supplier evaluation processes. Familiarity with manufacturing processes and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) concepts. Knowledge of regulatory and quality standards applicable to medical devices and laboratory instruments.
