Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Opto-Mechanical Technician to join our dynamic team. The technician will support instrument preparation and running associated processes for the growth of thin film multilayer coatings by sputtering. The technician will carry out tests of optical components for custom built lasers for XUV Lasers, Inc.

Examples of tasks are:

loading the deposition systems, maintaining such systems to ensure proper conditions for coatings' development; developing processes to prepare optics for deposition; designing and aligning optical systems; basic trouble-shooting of electronic components. The opto-mechanical technician will work closely with an assigned senior research scientist to ensure successful on-time and on-budget project completion. The candidate will possess expertise in:

• proper handling, cleaning and mounting of precision optics
• understanding of optics concepts (geometric/physical optics, diffraction)
• proficiency with optical and mechanical measurement tools
• ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and schematics
• familiarity with laser alignment tools, beam profilers, oscilloscopes and microscopes, calipers and spectrometers
• familiarity with vacuum systems
• a strong work ethic, with a commitment to a quality work product and environment, and be proactive
