56221BR Structural Opto-Mechanical Engineer General Atomics Acton Massachusetts Job Summary General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) designs and manufactures first-of-a-kind electromagnetic and electric power generation systems. GA-EMS' expanding portfolio of specialized products and integrated system solutions support critical fleet, space systems and satellites, missile defense, power and energy, and process and monitoring applications for defense, industrial, and commercial customers worldwide. We are hiring Opto-Mechanical Structural Engineers/Analysts to join our team in Acton, MA to support the design, development and production of advanced spaceborne electro-optical sensor payloads. These individuals will assist in developing cutting-edge, high-performance space-based opto-mechanical hardware designs. The primary roles entail executing various structural modeling and detailed mechanical design analysis tasks using Femap and Nastran software as well as performing vibration testing to validate design performance. This opportunity affords the chance to build your skills as part of a highly skilled, collaborative and supportive project team, that produces best in class, rigorously engineered, high-performance space based optical sensor payloads.
