Manufacturer of optical and laser metrology and scanning devices seeks individual who can join a diverse engineering staff and develop cutting edge fixtures and mounts for lenses and mirrors.
Shall:
  • Lead design and fabrication of custom optical mounts and fixtures for new products such as handheld or mounted laser measurement devices and vision systems used in consumer, industrial, medical, and aerospace applications.
  • Ensure designs meet
ASME Y14.5 GD&T
requirements.
  • Create complex opto-mechanical assemblies in optical design software and execute on those designs to prototype and produce industrial-grade components and systems.
  • Design tool assemblies for fine alignment of opto-mechanical systems.

Requirements:
  • B.S. in Engineering with a focus in opto-mechanical design, must be able to develop systems from proof of concept through design verification and prototyping.
  • Experience using non-sequential optical design software such as TracePro, LightTools, or similar to realize designs at the component level with data imported from optical simulation and analysis software such as Zemax, CodeV, FRED, APEX, etc.
  • Experience with opto-mechanical design and assembly software packages in SolidWorks, ProE, Catia, or similar.
  • Ability to design mounting systems capable of withstanding high temperature variations and reducing vibrations that negatively affect the optical components of the device.
