Electronic Combat Solutions (ECS) has technology, engineering and program teams that educate and mentor colleagues to deliver leading Electronic Warfare capabilities. BAE is seeking an innovative and results driven Senior Laser Seal Engineer to lead the optimization, processes and operation of precision laser seal systems designed to produce hermetic seals. You will serve as the subject matter expert, bridging the gap between engineering, product integration and stable, high yield manufacturing. This is a first shift position working a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off! Responsibilities Set up, calibrate and operate precision laser welders to establish hermetic seals. Design, optimize and scale laser welding and sealing processes for microwave submodule application. Plan and execute structured experiments (DOE) to establish process windows and characterize laser material interactions. Utilize analytical methods, root cause analysis and statistical process control (SPC) to endure yield targets and stringent seal integrity are met. Ability to execute environmental stress screening (ESS) includes thermal cycling and vibration testing. Perform precise machine de-lidding for inspection and rework. Serve as a technical liaison with design, test, quality, reliability and program engineering to meet production goals. Document technical work, manage intellectual property and mentor junior engineers on laser safety and operational best practices.
