Job Description

Job Description We are seeking a Dimensional Control Engineer to support precision measurement, alignment, and inspection activities on complex shipbuilding and industrial projects. This role combines hands-on field work with advanced 3D modeling and data analysis to ensure structures, piping systems, and equipment are installed to exact engineering specifications.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform dimensional inspections using laser trackers, laser scanners, photogrammetry systems, and total stations.
  • Measure and verify ship structures, piping systems, machinery, and critical equipment installations.
  • Process scan data and create 3D models, inspection reports, and as-built documentation.
  • Compare field measurements to engineering drawings and CAD models to identify discrepancies.
  • Support engineering, production, and quality teams with alignment plans, fixtures, and technical documentation.
  • Participate in machinery alignment, leveling, and verification of high-tolerance systems.

  • 6 years of Experience in dimensional control quality inspection, or precision measurement.
  • Experience with FARO or API Laser Trackers
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Experience with laser tracking, laser scanning, photogrammetry, or similar measurement technologies.
  • Proficiency with software such as Spatial Analyzer, PolyWorks, Verisurf, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, or Siemens NX.
  • Shipbuilding, defense, aerospace, heavy manufacturing, or industrial construction experience preferred.
  • Secret level clearance is a must
