Job Description
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 6 years of experience with mobile device SOCs and subsystems including CPU, memory, GPU, multimedia, modem, and WiFi. Experience optimizing software for power and performance improvements. Experience with embedded software system design.
Preferred qualifications:
PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Knowledge of Linux kernel and Android system. Excellent communication skills. $188000 - $274000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits Learn more about benefits at Google. Responsibilities Drive power optimizations on mobile devices. Provide inputs to architecture teams on new device features and initiatives to improve power. Analyze and optimize the software across the key components of all device subsystems, CPU, GPU, MCU, memory, display and connectivity. Debug and resolve battery drain issues, while developing tools and tests for validating and monitoring power consumption.
