Job Description

Leidos is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to join our Engineering & Design team in the Energy & Utilities sector. You will lead overhead and underground transmission line designs from concept through construction, ensuring compliance with NESC and utility standards. Responsibilities include line routing, structural analysis, plan and profile development, and QA/QC of deliverables. You'll mentor junior engineers, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and interface directly with clients on complex, high-impact grid modernization and critical infrastructure projects in a collaborative, mission-driven environment. Responsibilities Lead transmission line design from concept through construction for utility and energy projects Develop and review calculations, drawings, specifications, and bill of materials Ensure designs comply with NESC, ASCE, IEEE, and client standards Oversee junior engineers and provide technical mentorship and QA/QC review Coordinate with civil, substation, and protection teams to integrate designs Support proposals, estimates, and project schedules for new opportunities Engage with clients to define requirements and resolve design issues Support field activities, site visits, and construction issue resolution Required Skills Transmission line design (69k V-500k V) PTC/PLS-CADD or similar tools
