Responsibilities Utilize utility locating devices such as ground-penetrating radar and radio detection tools to accurately detect underground utilities including cables, pipes, and other infrastructure. Interpret site plans, blueprints, schematics, and construction documents to identify utility layouts and plan safe excavation routes. Perform utility marking on construction sites to clearly identify underground utilities for contractors and crews. Operate company vehicles safely while traveling between job sites in Niceville, Crestview, Fort Walton Beach, and surrounding areas. Conduct field service activities including site inspections, utility detection, and verification to ensure compliance with safety protocols. Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and project managers to relay locating results and coordinate site activities. Requirements Proven experience as a service technician or field service worker within the fiber & utilities sector. Strong background in blueprint reading and interpreting utility maps. Hands-on experience with utility locating devices such as ground-penetrating radar (GPR) and radio-detection (RD) systems. Knowledge of underground utilities including cables, pipes, conduits, and other infrastructure components. Ability to read schematics and site plans accurately to determine utility locations. Familiarity with safety protocols related to underground utility detection and construction site operations. Experience working outdoors in varying weather conditions with outdoor work experience preferred. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for operating company vehicles safely. Excellent client communication skills to provide clear updates and coordinate activities effectively.
