This position requires a strong technical background in medium-voltage electrical power systems (1kV and above preferred) , switchgear, UPS systems, and associated critical-power equipment. The Lead Field Engineer will serve as a technical leader in the field, overseeing complex testing and commissioning activities, coordinating with customers and internal teams, mentoring field personnel, and ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and in accordance with project specifications, OEM requirements, and applicable electrical standards. The position is home-based with primarily regional travel throughout the Atlanta, GA area , with occasional national travel as required. Key Responsibilities Lead and oversee field commissioning, startup, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency response for medium-voltage and critical-power electrical systems . Commission and test medium-voltage switchgear, circuit breakers, protective devices, UPS systems, batteries, PDUs, STS systems, transformers, and related power distribution equipment . Lead commissioning-focused design reviews and identify potential electrical, controls, safety, and constructability issues prior to field installation. Develop, review, and execute detailed test procedures, commissioning plans, test scripts, and test reports . Lead on-site testing and commissioning activities while ensuring compliance with project requirements, OEM specifications, and applicable codes and standards. Perform electrical testing, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, equipment startup, emergency service, and field modifications. Utilize electrical test equipment to diagnose system problems and verify equipment performance. Coordinate with engineering, technical support, project management, manufacturers, contractors, and customers to resolve complex equipment and operational issues. Develop and review Methods of Procedure (MOPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs) for critical-power systems. Provide technical leadership and mentoring to field engineers, technicians, and service personnel. Serve as the senior technical resource on difficult field issues and provide recommendations for corrective action. Communicate directly with customers regarding equipment condition, troubleshooting findings, system performance, and recommended repairs or improvements. Complete detailed Field Service Reports and commissioning documentation accurately and promptly. Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, system performance, safety, and customer uptime. Participate in OEM and manufacturer training programs as needed. Maintain a high level of technical proficiency with evolving medium-voltage and critical-power technologies . Follow all applicable safety requirements, including
