3001581635-2 Apply for this job now Job Description Constellation Energy seeks a Senior Structural/Civil Engineer to join our Engineering & Design team in the Energy & Utilities sector. You will lead structural and civil design for energy infrastructure projects, ensuring safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include performing calculations, reviewing drawings, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting construction and maintenance activities. Responsibilities Lead structural and civil engineering design for energy and utilities projects, including new generation facilities, substations, and balance-of-plant structures. Perform advanced structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, and foundation systems to support critical energy infrastructure. Develop, review, and seal (if PE-licensed) engineering calculations, drawings, and technical specifications that meet applicable codes and Constellation standards. Evaluate site conditions, geotechnical reports, and environmental constraints to inform structural and civil design decisions. Ensure designs comply with relevant codes and regulations (ASCE, AISC, ACI, IBC) as well as industry and utility standards. Coordinate closely with cross functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, controls, and project management, to deliver integrated project solutions. Support the planning, layout, and civil design of plant sites, including grading, drainage, access roads, and utility corridors. Provide engineering support during construction, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and resolving field issues in collaboration with contractors and stakeholders. Lead or contribute to structural assessments, condition evaluations, and retrofit/upgrade designs for existing facilities to improve reliability and extend asset life. Apply sustainability principles and innovative design approaches to reduce environmental impact and support Constellation's decarbonization goals. Prepare clear technical reports, design summaries, and presentations for internal leadership, customers, and regulatory bodies as needed. Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers, fostering a collaborative and high performance engineering culture. Participate in project planning, scheduling, and cost estimation, providing structural and civil input to proposals and business cases. Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities in design standards, tools, and processes to enhance quality and efficiency. Engage with external partners, consultants, and vendors to evaluate and integrate specialized structural solutions when required.
