Our U.S. office, located in the Duluth metropolitan area, serves as a key technical and commercial hub supporting customers throughout North America. At Framo Morat, Inc. we are looking for a talented Engineer to support the development, customization, and application of gear components and electromechanical drive systems for our customers. This role will work closely with customers manufacturing and engineering teams in both the U.S. and Germany to deliver innovative motion and power transmission solutions. Your Tasks Design and develop custom gear components, gearbox assemblies, and electromechanical drive systems for customer applications. Create 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, bills of materials, and technical documentation. Perform engineering calculations related to gears, bearings, shafts, torque transmission, efficiency, durability, and overall system performance. Support application engineering activities, including product selection, technical proposal development, and customer presentations. Collaborate with customers to understand technical requirements and translate them into manufacturable solutions. Coordinate with engineering and manufacturing teams worldwide throughout product development and project execution. Analyze design issues and implement corrective actions to improve performance, reliability, and manufacturability. Provide technical support to sales, operations, and customer service teams. Participate in customer visits, trade shows, and technical meetings as required. Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, quality requirements, and company procedures. Your Profile Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering or related engineering discipline. 3+ years of mechanical design, application Engineering or product development experience in industrial equipment, power transmission, motion control, automation, or related industries. Proficiency/Good Knowledge with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, or similar platforms. Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, GD&T, and engineering documentation. Experience working with gears, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, motors, or electromechanical systems. Experience with FEA, tolerance analysis, or design validation testing. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and international environment.
