Senior Engineer- Power Generation The Senior Engineer is a technical authority and project engineer for power generation systems, responsible for independent engineering decision‑making and capital project execution to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant plant operation.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as technical decision maker and subject matter expert for power generation systems Lead capital projects from scope development through commissioning, managing schedules, budgets, and funding Develop and review engineering analyses, drawings, technical and purchase specifications Evaluate bids, review vendor submittals, and oversee contractor deliverables Apply electrical and mechanical engineering expertise to generators, transformers, breakers, relays, turbines, boilers, and steam systems Ensure compliance with regulatory, reliability, and design basis requirements (e.g., NERC) Support audits, inspections, outages, and field execution Communicate engineering decisions clearly to technical and non‑technical stakeholdersRequired Skills & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering 8+ years of engineering experience in a regulated utility or heavy industrial environment (power generation, steam/gas plants, utilities) Experience leading engineering projects with scope, schedule, and budget responsibility Strong ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics Proven ability to perform independent engineering analysis, exercise sound judgment, and document decisions Nice toHave Pluses:
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or progress toward licensure Experience supporting NERC compliance or reliability activities Experience with vendor management, purchase specifications, and equipment replacement projects Familiarity with IEEE, NFPA, and applicable power generation codes and standardsPay:
$145,000.00- $150,000.
