Welty Energy, an affiliate of Welty, is a professional services company specializing in program and project management, transmission line engineering, substation engineering and construction oversight on transmission, substation and distribution projects ranging in voltages from 4kV to 765kV. Headquartered in Akron, OH, and working nationally, Welty Energy currently manages approximately $500 million in construction projects for electric utilities in the Midwest and Northeast regions of the U.S. Here is more about the nature of our internships and new grad opportunities! You will work on a broad range of projects, specific to Electric Distribution, Substation and Transmission upgrades on behalf of the Utility. You'll routinely accompany our managers to project meetings, take notes and provide additional support to the life cycle of the project. The internship opportunities are to be based out of our corporate office in Akron, OH with about 25% travel expected. New Grad (Project Coordinator) positions may have flexibility to remote in select states (PA, NJ, MD, VA, WV).
In addition you may:
Support assigned projects and/or teams from the estimating phase through project completion Visit Substations and Transmission Line construction projects Receive FR allowance and boot allowance Support project team with safety moments and capture meeting minutes Learn and assist on project proposals Update Project one pages and project tracker Learn how to identify substation and transmission equipment Participate in Project Deep Dive meetings Learn Project schedules in Primavera P6 Help to identifying clearance points on switching requests Sit in on financial meetings Receive OSHA10 certification Work with a buddy and coach Participate in lunch and learns Qualifications You should bring to the table: Enrolled in a bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or relevant technical field Prior Project Coordination, Engineering or Construction Management experience is a bonus.
