In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and operating a wide range of heavy and light equipment, including excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, bucket trucks, and power tools. Your expertise will ensure the safe and efficient operation of outdoor utility systems such as water pipelines, underground utilities, and power distribution networks. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in the energy and utilities sector, contributing to essential infrastructure projects while adhering to strict safety protocols. Pay:
$18- $19 an hour
Shift:
2nd shift/ 3pm to 11:30pm Paid Weekly Duties Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, bucket trucks, and bucket operation machinery to perform construction, maintenance, and repair tasks. Conduct fiber splicing and low voltage/high voltage electrical work following safety standards to support utility infrastructure. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on machinery and tools to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance. Assist with underground utility installation, pipeline work, water system maintenance, and other outdoor construction activities. Use hand tools and power tools for mechanical repairs, welding tasks, manual handling of materials, and equipment adjustments. Climb ladders or structures safely when inspecting or repairing overhead lines or elevated systems; utilize ladder use techniques effectively. Participate in on-call coverage to respond promptly to emergency repairs or outages affecting utility services. Qualifications Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as dozers, excavators, loaders, backhoes, bucket trucks, and bucket operation machinery. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools for maintenance and repair tasks. Familiarity with underground utilities installation, pipeline work, water systems, and outdoor construction site operations. Knowledge of safety protocols related to high voltage/low voltage electrical work and heavy equipment operation. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to manual handling procedures; comfortable working at heights or climbing structures as needed. Experience working in the energy & utilities sector or related field is highly preferred. Valid commercial truck driving license or ability to obtain one; experience with construction site safety standards is a plus.
