Join a dynamic and growing team in Ashburn, VA as a Pre-Sales Engineer (Low Voltage), supporting CPGs White Space Fit Out initiatives. This role is integral to the planning, pricing, and implementation of low voltage cabling and infrastructure projects, with a focus on structured cabling for mission-critical environments such as data centers. The Pre-Sales Engineer collaborates closely with sales, engineering, and project management teams to deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions that meet client needs and industry standards. Responsibilities Review and interpret RFP/RFQ documents and support the request for information process for low voltage and White Space Fit Out project scopes. Develop detailed cabling layouts, pathway designs, and test plans for structured cabling systems, including CAT6/CAT6a and fiber optic systems. Prepare conceptual design documents illustrating structural, cabling, and physical networking systems, including topology requirements. Create, review, and edit structured cable test scripts, procedures, and results. Identify project risks and challenges during the solutioning process. Assist in developing cost estimates and budgets for low voltage projects or portions of larger efforts. Support proposal development and preparation of deliverables. Maintain organized bid documentation and support project kickoff with the Preconstruction Manager. Identify additional revenue opportunities within project scopes. Coordinate with sales, engineering, preconstruction, execution, and finance teams. Collect and evaluate quotes from subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers. Review and assess cost estimates, including labor, material, and time requirements. Conduct site visits and document findings for internal distribution. Create shop drawings and documentation for potential change orders during project execution. Perform takeoffs and generate bills of materials for overhead cable tray, ladder rack, and fiber runner systems. Travel to data center sites for system audits, engineering studies, and as-built updates. Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ANSI, TIA/EIA, NFPA, and BICSI. Qualifications 510 years of experience in structured cabling, low voltage, fiber optic installation, estimation, and on-site project management preferred. 3+ years of experience in construction estimating, with knowledge of mission-critical systems and hyperscale data centers. Experience with data center design, installation, and testing of fiber network systems. Ability to interpret contract terms, conditions, and exhibits as applicable to project requirements. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills with strong attention to detail. Demonstrated experience developing and justifying budgets. Ability to create and maintain project documentation processes. Creative thinker with a focus on innovative, cost-effective solutions. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Windows operating systems. Experience with estimating software such as Accubid, RS Means, On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, and AutoCAD. Familiarity with fiber testing equipment and software (e.g., Fluke, Viavi, Fluke LinkWare, Viavi J-Reporter). Experience with fiber splicing tools and software (e.g., Fujikura, Sumitomo). Experience with Procore software for vendor management. Must be a U.S. citizen. OSHA 30 certification preferred.
Offered compensation:
