This includes development of manufacturing plans, program timelines and reports, design reviews, mechanical designs, documentation packages, production builds and training as needed. The Sustaining Engineer will be assigned responsibility for technical support and sustaining mature products currently in production. Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing standards, training team members, and evaluating results. Prepare Release Packages consisting of Bill of Materials, routings, drawings, fixtures/tooling, Document Change Notice (DCNs)
  • Confer with team regarding manufacturing capabilities to facilitate production processes.
  • Confer with sales/customers concerning product design for manufacturing to ensure quality results. Interpret customer drawings and specifications in relation to capabilities.
  • Apply statistical methodology and perform product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality, and efficiency improvement. Perform Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), gap analysis and value stream mapping.
  • Develop, maintain, and revise manufacturing process documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), process specifications, and control plans.
  • Review and disposition non-compliant material (DMRs and RMAs) to determine root cause and develop corrective/preventative actions.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with company safety regulations and company policies and procedures.

  • Experience working with multi-site teams. Position Requirements
  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
  • 3 to 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience preferred.
  • Glass to metal sealing experience preferred.
  • Experience with Solidworks and ePDM or similar 3D CAD programs.
  • Manufacturing/Machining knowledge preferred.
  • Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
  • Must be able to perform various functions in support of product development and production support.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools (i.e., Excel, Word, etc.), MRP, Bill of Material creation and manufacturing process knowledge essential.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-marking, work quality, and to reduce cost.
