In this role, you'll work in our Lowell, MI location with a close-knit team of talented engineers, collaborating cross-functionally with internal and external business stakeholders. What You Will Be Doing Design and revise CAD files for wood, aluminum, sheet metal, and die-cast components using SolidWorks Participate in material selection and component analysis Build and test prototypes to validate design performance Create engineering drawings, tolerance analyses, and free body diagrams Partner cross-functionally with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to develop new products

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent 3-5 years of product development experience Experience in the engineering approval of parts for production (ISIR/PPAPs) Experience performing and understanding DFMEA/PFMEAs Technical Skills Proficiency in SolidWorks or an equivalent CAD platform such as Creo Strong understanding of tolerance analysis Design for manufacturability and assembly (DFM/DFA) Desired Skills and Experience Naturally curious and multidisciplinary, drawing on a variety of sources and disciplines to approach problems from multiple angles Sees multiple paths to a solution and thinks creatively when solving technical challenges, applying mechanical engineering principles, material science, and manufacturing know-how Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to convey ideas clearly across teams and functions Resourceful in using a range of methods and techniques to work through technical problems
