Headquartered in Pomona, California, with operations in Houston, Texas, we serve commercial and residential markets with a focus on quality products, strong customer relationships, and a hands-on work environment. Job Summary Copperfit Industries Inc. is seeking a hands-on Product Engineer to support the design, development, testing, and improvement of our plumbing and industrial products. This role combines mechanical engineering and product development. The position will work directly with customers, factories, suppliers, internal teams, and outsourced engineers to move products from concept and customer requirements through drawings, prototypes, testing, revisions, and production. The ideal candidate has strong technical fundamentals, CAD capability, practical problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Develop and improve mechanical products from concept through production Create, review, and modify engineering drawings using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software Translate customer and business requirements into product specifications and technical requirements Work directly with factories, suppliers, and outsourced engineers on drawings, materials, samples, tooling, and production issues Review prototypes and product samples and recommend design or manufacturing improvements Troubleshoot product design, fit, function, installation, quality, and manufacturing issues Coordinate product testing, certifications, engineering changes, and design revisions Maintain accurate product drawings, specifications, technical documentation, and revision records Communicate directly with customers regarding technical requirements, product applications, and customization needs Coordinate with Sales, Purchasing, Quality, Operations, Warehouse, and other internal teams throughout product development Support new product introductions, product improvements, substitutions, and corrective actions Provide technical product support and training to internal teams and customers as needed Coordinate and provide technical direction to the Mechanical Engineer and outside engineering resources Qualifications and Skills Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Product Design, or a related technical field preferred Experience in mechanical design, product development, manufacturing, or engineering Hands-on experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software Ability to read, create, review, and modify mechanical drawings and technical specifications Strong understanding of mechanical design, materials, manufacturing processes, and product development Strong hands-on problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Ability to work directly with factories, suppliers, customers, and technical partners Strong project coordination, organization, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple product-development projects and follow through from concept to production Preferred Qualifications Experience with plumbing, valves, piping systems, construction materials, or industrial products Experience with copper, brass, cast iron, or other manufactured metal products Experience working with domestic or international factories and suppliers Experience with prototyping, testing, certifications, quality issues, or engineering change control Experience using DDI ERP or another manufacturing or distribution ERP system
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
