Full-Time Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and highly practical Battery Engineer / Battery Engineering Manager to lead battery cell testing, customer application evaluation, and production planning for our advanced battery technologies. This position will play a critical role in connecting battery cell development with customer requirements and future manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in the battery industry, a strong understanding of battery cells and systems, and the ability to translate customer needs into practical testing, engineering, and production plans. Academic degree level is not the primary consideration for this position. Demonstrated industry experience, technical judgment, practical problem-solving ability, and leadership capability are significantly more important. Key Responsibilities Battery Testing and Customer Evaluation Develop and execute test plans for battery cells and battery packs based on potential customer applications. Evaluate cell performance, including capacity, energy density, power capability, cycle life, rate capability, temperature performance, and safety. Design application-specific testing protocols for customers in areas such as drones, defense systems, aviation, electric mobility, and other high-performance applications. Analyze test data and prepare clear technical reports and recommendations for customers and internal teams. Support customer sampling, product demonstrations, qualification testing, and technical discussions. Identify performance gaps and recommend engineering solutions based on test results and customer feedback. Customer and Application Support Communicate directly with customers to understand their operating conditions, performance requirements, system constraints, and qualification needs. Translate customer requirements into battery cell specifications, test procedures, and product development priorities. Provide technically sound and practical recommendations regarding cell selection, pack configuration, operating limits, charging protocols, and system integration. Support business development activities through technical presentations, customer meetings, proposal preparation, and product demonstrations. Build strong relationships with customers by providing responsive and credible technical support. Cell Production and Manufacturing Planning Develop practical plans for transitioning battery cells from laboratory prototypes to pilot-scale and commercial production. Define production processes, equipment requirements, workflow, staffing needs, quality-control procedures, and production capacity. Support process development for electrode preparation, cell assembly, electrolyte filling, formation, aging, testing, and final inspection. Establish production documentation, standard operating procedures, work instructions, and process-control methods. Identify manufacturing risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities to improve yield, consistency, throughput, and cost. Coordinate with internal engineers, scientists, technicians, equipment suppliers, and manufacturing partners. Technical Leadership Organize and lead battery testing, production-planning, and customer-support activities. Mentor engineers and technicians and provide clear technical direction. Prioritize projects and allocate laboratory and production resources effectively. Establish disciplined testing, documentation, safety, and quality practices. Work closely with company leadership to support product strategy, manufacturing scale-up, and commercialization. Preferred Qualifications Extensive industry experience in battery engineering, battery cell development, battery testing, battery manufacturing, or battery-system applications. Strong practical knowledge of lithium-ion, lithium-metal, or other advanced rechargeable battery technologies. Hands-on experience with battery cyclers, environmental chambers, impedance measurements, electrochemical testing, and battery-performance analysis. Experience developing battery test protocols for real-world customer applications. Understanding of battery-cell production processes, formation, quality control, failure analysis, and manufacturing scale-up. Ability to interpret customer requirements and convert them into realistic engineering specifications and validation plans. Experience working with pouch cells and medium- or large-format battery cells is strongly preferred. Familiarity with battery packs, battery-management systems, power requirements, and system integration is desirable. Strong project-management, organizational, communication, and team-leadership skills. Ability to work independently, make sound technical decisions, and solve practical engineering problems. Education A bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree in battery science, electrochemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field is helpful but not required. For this position, substantial and relevant battery-industry experience may substitute for formal academic credentials. Proven technical capability, hands-on experience, practical application knowledge, and leadership ability will be given the greatest consideration. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is not limited to laboratory research. This person understands how batteries are used in real products, how customers evaluate battery performance, and how battery cells must be tested and manufactured to meet practical application requirements. We are looking for someone who can: Understand both battery science and real-world battery applications. Communicate effectively with customers, engineers, scientists, and production personnel. Develop organized and actionable testing and manufacturing plans. Lead technical activities and help build a capable battery engineering and production team. Balance performance, safety, manufacturability, cost, schedule, and customer expectations. What We Offer The opportunity to work on advanced battery technologies with significant commercial and defense applications. A key technical and leadership role in battery-product validation and manufacturing scale-up. Direct involvement in customer programs, pilot production, and commercialization. A dynamic and practical working environment where industry experience and technical judgment are highly valued. How to Apply Please submit your résumé and a brief description of your relevant battery-industry experience. Applicants are encouraged to highlight hands-on experience in battery testing, customer applications, cell manufacturing, production scale-up, technical leadership, and commercialization.
