Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented RF Drive Test Engineer to join our innovative telecommunications team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive drive tests to evaluate and optimize radio frequency (RF) performance across various wireless networks. Your expertise will help ensure seamless connectivity, enhance network quality, and support the deployment of cutting-edge communication systems. Responsibilities Plan and execute RF drive tests across designated geographic areas, ensuring thorough coverage and data collection. Utilize specialized testing equipment and software to measure signal strength, quality, and network parameters in real-world environments. Analyze test data to identify coverage gaps, interference issues, and performance bottlenecks. Collaborate with network engineers and project teams to troubleshoot RF problems through root cause analysis and detailed diagnostics. Prepare detailed reports documenting test results, findings, and recommended improvements for network optimization. Maintain and calibrate testing equipment, including spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and other RF measurement tools. Support the integration of new hardware components by reviewing schematics, PCB layouts, and electrical systems related to RF infrastructure. Skills Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, RF systems, and wireless communication standards. Proficiency in project scheduling to manage multiple testing assignments efficiently. Experience with PCB design and review using AutoCAD or Revit for layout planning. Ability to perform debugging and troubleshooting using tools such as ohmmeters, hand tools, and surface-mount technology (SMT) components. Knowledge of scripting languages like Python for automating data analysis or test procedures. Familiarity with schematic diagrams, electrical wiring, NEC (National Electrical Code), and electrical systems maintenance. Mechanical knowledge related to equipment repair, assembly, soldering, and surface-mount component handling. Competence in CAD software such as MicroStation or SolidWorks for designing or modifying mechanical parts associated with RF equipment. Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and schematics relevant to network hardware deployment.
