This role involves designing and testing software, integrating new functionality, troubleshooting and resolving defects, developing algorithms and database interfaces, and collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle. What You'll Do Develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems based on documented requirements Design and develop user-friendly graphical user interfaces and interactive dashboards Design, deploy, and manage applications and infrastructure in AWS cloud environments Integrate new features and functionality into existing tools and systems Develop and maintain automated workflows to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency Integrate AI/ML models into existing applications and workflows to enhance functionality and decision-making Monitor and optimize automated workflows and AI/ML model performance Analyze user requirements and translate them into software design and performance requirements Design, code, test, debug, and modify new and existing software applications Develop algorithms and software solutions that meet system performance and functional requirements Integrate existing software into new or modified systems and operating environments Develop database queries and interfaces for existing and proposed data repositories Review and create software and system documentation Review and test software components for adherence to design requirements Develop and execute software testing procedures and document test results Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and problem reports Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle Apply appropriate software development, design, and Agile methodologies Evaluate opportunities for software reuse and the integration of
COTS/GOTS
solutions Provide input on system design, requirements analysis, hardware/software trade-offs, and software architecture Recommend improvements to software development processes, documentation, and standards Work independently and collaboratively as part of a software development team What We're Looking For Required Qualifications Active TS/SCI Clearance with a current Maryland Polygraph Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university Seven (7) years of experience as a Software Engineer supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity Four (4) additional years of Software Engineering experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree Strong software development experience with Python, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and/or TypeScript Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js Experience developing responsive and accessible web interfaces and dashboards Experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, IAM, API Gateway, and DynamoDB/RDS Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation Experience using Python for automation and workflow development Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow or AWS Step Functions Basic experience integrating AI/ML models into software applications Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, Docker/containerization, and cloud security best practices Experience with Git and software testing frameworks, including unit and integration testing Experience analyzing system performance, data usage, system flows, and operational processes Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an Agile development environment
