Job Description

RF Communications Engineer - Human Spaceflight Position Description We are seeking an experienced RF Communications Engineer to lead the design, integration, and validation of radio communication systems for human spaceflight modules . This role is critical to ensuring reliable, high-performance RF communications between space-based platforms and ground systems throughout the mission lifecycle. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in RF system design, test, and integration within aerospace or spaceflight environments and is comfortable working across multidisciplinary engineering teams. Key Responsibilities Design and develop radio communication systems for human-rated spaceflight modules Perform RF link budget calculations and analyze end-to-end system performance Lead the integration of RF communication components with spacecraft and ground hardware/software Plan and execute functional, performance, and integration testing of RF subsystems Conduct RF interference (RFI) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) analyses for space-based communication systems Utilize advanced RF test equipment to troubleshoot, validate, and optimize system performance Collaborate closely with systems, avionics, software, and ground operations teams to ensure mission success Support design reviews, verification plans, and technical documentation Required Skills RF and radio frequency system design RF system integration and test Expertise with RF test equipment Strong in Electrical Engineering Hands-on experience supporting complex, high-reliability systems Top Skills RF / Radio Frequency Engineering RF Test Equipment Radio System Integration Additional Skills & Qualifications RF integration and RF testing experience Proficiency with spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and related RF test tools Experience in aerospace or spaceflight programs Familiarity with human-rated or mission-critical communication systems Understanding of space-based RF environments and constraints Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $90.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
