Summary Are you looking for a great opportunity to solve complex engineering challenges with real-world impact? We are the Product Systems Quality Robotics & Applied Intelligence team, who design, build and deploy robotic and mechatronic testing solutions to drive system quality for new products and experiences. In this role, you'll develop automated systems that integrate mechanical, electrical, and software components to directly impact the performance and quality of devices used by millions of customers worldwide. The work demands creative problem-solving at the intersection of robotics and consumer electronics testing. We're seeking a motivated engineer with strong programming and problem-solving skills. You'll work with our diverse and multi-disciplinary group of engineers across different organizations at Apple to develop sophisticated automated testing fixtures and robotics solutions that ensure our world-changing products meet the exceptional quality standards our customers expect. Description As part of a diverse team, you will design, build, and scale robotic automation solutions to test Apple products, ensuring their outstanding quality before they reach customers! Responsibilities Design, develop, and deploy robotic and mechatronic system testing solutions as the owner of one or more technology areas. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver the most effective and impactful ways to test and solve short and long-term problems. Analyze data and results, and report the impact of all system issues found, advocating for the customer and contributing to the highest quality at all levels of the product. Minimum Qualifications Bachelorʼs in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field Expertise in Python Experience with computer vision (OpenCV) and/or AI/ML applications Experience with applied mathematics (e.g. linear algebra, transformation matrices, kinematics) Experience debugging and troubleshooting complex mechatronic and software systems Experience in CADing/designing mechanical fixtures for robotic applications Ability to work in teams and collaborate Preferred Qualifications asterʼs or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field 2+ years of experience in creating and using robotics and/or mechatronic systems (e.g. microcontrollers, sensors, actuators) to build automated solutions Experience designing and working with electronic circuits, and troubleshooting electronic signals for mechatronic solutions Strong understanding of QA methodologies and practices Meticulous attention to detail and skilled at balancing multiple projects in parallel without impacting the quality of deliverables Experience using and/or creating AI tools for development or robotic applications Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $129,300 and $225,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
