Position Overview:
We are excited to welcome a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Part-Time VEX/FLL Robotics/Instructor Coach . In this role, you will inspire and guide students through the fascinating world of VEX/FLL robotics, with a focus on the VEX robotics platform (including Vex go, Vex IQ and VRC). Working primarily with elementary, middle school and high school students, you'll provide hands-on instruction and mentorship to help them develop STEM skills, enhance problem-solving abilities, work collaboratively, and cultivate a passion for robotics.Key Responsibilities:
Lead VEX/FLL Robotics Sessions:
Facilitate engaging VEX robotics sessions, guiding students through interactive activities, challenges, and projects.Implement Structured Curriculum:
Deliver a well-organized curriculum that covers fundamental robotics concepts, programming skills, and engineering principles using VEX robotics kits and software.Provide Mentorship and Support:
Offer group mentoring, assisting students in designing, building, programming, and troubleshooting their robots.Team Formation and Management:
Help form, and support VEX Robotics teams, fostering an environment of collaboration, teamwork, and cooperation among students. Prepare forCompetitions:
Assist students in preparing for VEX competitions by organizing practice sessions, refining strategies, and ensuring readiness for events.Maintain Equipment:
Ensure all VEX robotics equipment is well-maintained, organized, and available for use during sessions and competitions.Communicate Progress:
Keep regular communication with students, parents, and school administrators, providing updates on progress, upcoming events, and team achievements.Ensure Safety:
Uphold high safety standards during all activities, ensuring a safe and secure learning environment for all participants.Qualifications:
Passion for VEX/FLL Robotics Fundamental Education and Competitive program: A genuine interest in robotics, with experience in VEX robotics or similar robotics programs being a strong advantage.Effective Communication Skills:
Ability to connect with and effectively communicate with students, parents, and school staff. Experience withStudents:
Previous experience working with elementary, middle and high school students in a teaching, coaching, or mentoring capacity.Robotics Knowledge:
Proficiency in robotics concepts and hands-on experience with VEX robotics equipment and programming (block-based or text-based) is preferred or similar robotics platform.Leadership and Team Management:
Ability to manage and guide student groups, promoting teamwork and creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.Flexible Availability:
Willingness to accommodate after-school sessions and weekend classes.Job Types:
