$58.60 / hour (W2) Job Overview We are seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to lead the development of electrical subsystems for a next-generation surgical robotic platform in Weston, FL . This hands-on role encompasses PCBA design, system integration, testing, and troubleshooting. In this position, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Software, Systems, Mechanical, Quality, Manufacturing, and Regulatory—to develop highly reliable electrical solutions from initial concept through commercialization.
Lead the electrical design and development of major robotic subsystems; translate product and system needs into clear electrical requirements and interfaces.
PCBA Design & Layout:
Develop complex PCBAs using Altium , including schematic design, component selection, layout reviews, and rigid, flex, and rigid-flex board designs.
Hardware Bring-Up & Testing:
Perform board bring-up, characterization, testing, and debugging; integrate electrical hardware with embedded software and mechanical components.
EMC & Compliance:
Develop verification and EMC test strategies; support testing at external laboratories and facilities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Lead technical trade-off decisions regarding performance, safety, reliability, manufacturability, and cost; support design documentation, risk management (IEC 60601), and design transfer.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline (Required).
Experience:
5+ years of professional electrical engineering experience (Required).
Core Technical Skills:
Advanced PCBA design experience using Altium (schematic capture, component selection, layout review, board bring-up, debugging). Hands-on experience with rigid, flex, or rigid-flex board designs. Deep experience in electrical hardware integration with embedded software and mechanical systems. Knowledge of EMC/EMI design, testing, troubleshooting, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM). Strong complex problem-solving skills and multidisciplinary system troubleshooting capabilities.
Preferred:
Experience with medical devices (Design Controls, ISO 13485, IEC 60601, DHF), surgical robotics, or complex electromechanical products. #
