Automation Engineer Travel Requirement:
Travel up to 25%Job Summary:
The Automation Engineer will support the programming, setup, commissioning, testing, and field service of industrial robotic and automated systems, with a focus on ABB and FANUC robots. This role is hands-on and customer-facing, requiring the ability to program and troubleshoot robotic systems, teach tool center points (TCPs) and user frames, and assist with the installation and commissioning of newly developed automation equipment. The Automation Engineer will work closely with the engineering team to test, debug, and resolve issues with automated systems both in-house and at customer sites. Travel of up to 25% is required.Key Responsibilities:
Assist with running/testing/debugging newly developed automated equipment Program Fanuc Robots (TP) and ABB Robots (Rapid) Setup and commissioning of ABB and FANUC robotic systems Teach tool center points (TCPs), Frames, and points Provide install support for automated systems Document work performed, findings, and corrective actions Travel to customer sites up to 25% of the timePreferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or a related field preferred 0-2 years of experience with industrial automation, robotics, or another related field Familiarity with a programming languageRequired Qualifications:
Basic understanding of sensors, I/O, and automated equipment Strong problem-solving skills and ability to follow procedures Comfortable working at customer sites Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to take initiative, prioritize tasks, and troubleshoot issues in a fast-paced environment Strong mechanical aptitudePhysical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the workday Frequent kneeling, bending, and reaching while working on robotic systems Comfortable performing manual tasks in tight or awkward spaces around machinery Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs as needed for equipment or tools Capable of working safely in a manufacturing or industrial environment, including adherence to PPE requirementsAdditional Information:
