We are looking for a System Development Engineer with a passion for developing embedded industrial software and control systems to transform the way we integrate robotics within our global network of advanced warehouses. This position is a unique opportunity to be involved in a wide range of automation projects right from the start. You will interface with multiple internal Amazon R D and design teams as well as the world's leading automation strategic partners who have the technology and resources to meet Amazon's growth needs on a global scale. • Design, develop, and maintain control software applications for mechatronic systems using modern software development practices, including CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies.
• Implement automated testing frameworks and deployment strategies to ensure code quality, reliability, and seamless integration of control systems software.
• Develop and optimize motion control algorithms, embedded programs, and real-time control systems for industrial automation.
• Drive operational excellence through monitoring, analysis, and continuous improvement of software performance metrics and system reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify process improvements, and troubleshoot issues with mechatronic systems.
• 25% travel expected to support onsite system testingBasic Qualifications
• 4+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
• 2+ years of embedded software development experience
• Experience deploying, and supporting mechatronic systemsPreferred Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree
• Experience building services using AWS products
• Experience with Linux/Unix
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
