Robotic Weld Technician Job Description You will troubleshoot and maintain modern welding robots and complete weld cells, including electrical, mechanical, PLC, and robotic systems The position is hands-on on the plant floor and is critical to ensuring continuous production in an automotive stamping and welding environment Job Responsibilities Ensure continuous production in the robotic weld department by proactively troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues Diagnose and repair industrial electrical systems, including 120V systems, 24V sensors, I/O blocks, and power distribution components Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams to identify faults and implement effective solutions Perform PLC troubleshooting by using the HMI, understanding ladder logic, verifying I/O, tracing signals, and conducting fault analysis to identify and correct issues Troubleshoot industrial robots, with a focus on KUKA robots preferred, and extensive experience with Fanuc robots in weld applications Support and troubleshoot welding systems, including resistance welding (WTC), MAG welding (Fronius), and stud welding (Ivo Stud), to maintain weld quality and consistency Carry out mechanical troubleshooting on pneumatics, valves, cylinders, fixtures, and alignment to ensure proper operation of the robotic weld cell Essential Skills At least 6 years of experience as a Robotic Weld Technician troubleshooting KUKA (preferred) or Fanuc welding robots in an industrial environment Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, including pneumatics, valves, cylinders, and fixture alignment, with the ability to realign fixtures when parts are not executed properly Ability to identify broken sensors or cables, use a multimeter for troubleshooting and diagnosis, and implement effective repairs Hands-on experience ensuring product quality by checking fixtures and knowing when and where to add shims to correct movements and maintain quality standards Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting on Fanuc robots, including 120V systems, 24V sensors, I/O blocks, and power distribution Ability to identify and replace faulty sensors on robots and related equipment Solid understanding of safety circuits and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and their application in a production environment Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Warren, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.45 - $35.45/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
