Job Description The Mechatronics & Robotics Technician supports a highly automated, robotics-driven distribution facility by installing, maintaining, and repairing complex material handling equipment and control systems. This role focuses on predictive and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and robotic systems, and ensuring high equipment uptime in a fast-paced, data-driven environment. The technician works across conveyors, material handling equipment, and PLC-based control systems, contributing to safe, efficient, and continuous operations. Responsibilities Install, inspect, repair, and maintain material handling equipment, including automated conveyor systems and other material handling equipment (MHE). Perform predictive and preventive maintenance routines on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and robotic systems, following established procedures and documentation requirements. Complete preventive maintenance documentation, including PM sheets, work order notes, and maintenance logs, with accurate and timely entries. Conduct battery changes and perform preventive maintenance on industrial batteries to support equipment uptime. Enter downtime data into daily logs and accurately record maintenance activities in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Create, manage, and close work orders within the CMMS, ensuring that issues are documented, prioritized, and resolved efficiently. Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and robotic systems, identifying root causes and implementing effective repairs. Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documentation to support troubleshooting and repair activities. Troubleshoot basic input and output functions of building operations and control systems, including PLC-based controls. Track, organize, and store department inventory, including spare parts and critical components, to ensure availability for maintenance activities. Follow and demonstrate safety standards and procedures for MHE and automation systems in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) guidelines and applicable safety standards. Collaborate with other maintenance and operations team members to support continuous improvement initiatives and enhance equipment reliability. Support robotic operations by performing routine inspections, adjustments, and repairs on robotic equipment and associated control systems. Use Microsoft Office applications to document work, track performance metrics, and communicate maintenance activities. Maintain a continuous improvement mindset by identifying opportunities to improve maintenance processes, equipment reliability, and overall operational efficiency. Essential Skills At least 2+ years of experience conducting quality predictive and preventive maintenance procedures on industrial equipment. 2+ years of experience in the repair of material handling equipment (MHE) or automated conveyor systems and controls. 2+ years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical schematics. 2+ years of knowledge and practical experience with electrical and electronic principles. 2+ years of experience following and demonstrating safety standards for industrial and material handling equipment. 1+ year of experience troubleshooting and diagnosing MHE systems. 1+ year of experience using Microsoft Office products and applications. Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems. Experience with automated conveyor systems and material handling systems. Experience completing preventive maintenance tasks on industrial or automated equipment. Experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics in an industrial setting. Experience using and managing work orders within a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Ability to troubleshoot basic input and output functions of building operations and control systems. Experience working with PLC-based control systems (minimum 2+ years). Experience with robotic operation and maintenance in an industrial or distribution environment. Experience with MHE safety standards in accordance with OEM and safety regulations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Vandalia, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.50 - $32.50/hr.
