Solar Engineering CAD Designer We are seeking a detail-oriented Solar Engineering CAD Designer to create permit-ready, construction-level plans for solar PV and battery storage projects. This role focuses on developing accurate electrical layouts, site plans, structural details, and technical drawings that meet NEC, CRC, utility, and client requirements while supporting efficient project execution. Responsibilities Create, edit, and revise 2D/3D solar PV and battery storage system designs using AutoCAD and related design software. Develop electrical layouts, single-line/three-line diagrams, wiring schematics, roof plans, site maps, and structural details. Prepare and finalize permit and construction document packages in compliance with NEC, CRC, utility interconnection requirements, and industry standards. Collaborate with engineers, project managers, sales teams, construction managers, and inspectors to ensure design accuracy and resolve discrepancies. Review project plans using tools such as Bluebeam and NavisWorks to support coordination and constructability. Assist with electrical system design, including wiring, automation components, and PLC integration where applicable. Produce clear technical documentation for construction and installation teams while maintaining quality control standards to minimize field revisions. Qualifications Minimum 2-5 years of experience in CAD drafting/design within the solar, renewable energy, or electrical construction industry required. Strong proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Revit, MicroStation, Aurora Solar, HelioScope, Bluebeam, NavisWorks, or similar platforms is a plus. Knowledge of photovoltaic and battery storage systems, electrical theory, and system integration. Familiarity with NEC, California Building Codes, utility interconnection requirements, and electrical safety standards. Ability to interpret technical drawings and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Strong attention to detail, drafting accuracy, and technical communication skills.

Pay:

$22.00 - $25.00 per hour
