Join LineWorks Engineering - a mid-sized power delivery firm based in Tampa, FL. We design the systems that power our communities, from transmission and substations to distribution and lighting. LineWorks Engineering is seeking an experienced Mid-Level Distribution Designer or Engineer for our Tampa office. The Mid-Level Distribution Designer or Engineer will work closely with LineWorks' team of distribution engineers, other designers and will utilize various in-house and client-based software applications to design and develop utility distribution construction packages. This position requires GTechnology (GIS) and PoleForeman proficiency, occasional field work, customer interaction and advanced knowledge of electric utility distribution systems.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED required (designer) ; Bachelor of Science in engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program (engineer role) Minimum 2 years experience in the Utility/Distribution Design industry Proficient in GTechnology(GIS), WorkPro and PoleForeman or industry relevant softwares Experience working in field conditions a plus Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients, contractors and customers Pre-employment drug screening, background check and valid drivers license
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and design overhead and/or underground utility distribution systems based on field data, project specifications and client requirements Utilize client software, including WorkPro, GIS, and PoleForeman, to support project design, data management, and engineering workflows Review distribution designs and ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety codes such as the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), national engineering standards, utility constructions standards, and best industry engineering practices Visit job sites to determine if there are any safety concerns and share information with the client and construction team Maintain project quality and production by managing field data, engineering reports, databases, photographs, and project documentation in accordance with company standards.
