00 a year 19 hours ago Qualifications Residential construction experience Filing Attention to detail NEC Certification Time management Full Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Designer to support the design and development of residential renewable energy systems throughout Hawaii. This role is responsible for producing accurate, code-compliant, and install-ready designs for solar PV, AC, and solar hot water systems. The Designer will work closely with sales teams, site surveyors, project managers, permitting staff, and installation crews to ensure projects are designed efficiently and executed with minimal field changes. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge, experience generating Bills of Materials (BOMs), and the ability to identify and resolve design challenges before installation. Job Functions
  • Design residential solar PV, AC, and solar hot water systems
  • Create permit-ready plan sets, electrical single-line diagrams, and structural layouts
  • Generate accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) for all projects
  • Review site survey measurements, photos, and field notes for design accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, local Hawaii codes, utility requirements, and company standards
  • Coordinate with engineering, permitting, project management, and installation teams
  • Optimize system layouts for production, aesthetics, and installation efficiency
  • Support installation teams with troubleshooting and design clarification during construction
  • Maintain organized project files, documentation, and revision tracking
  • Assist with utility interconnection and permitting requirements as needed
  • Identify opportunities to improve design accuracy and reduce installation issues.
