A Surveying or Mapping Technician works with surveyors and cartographers to gather data and create maps. Visits sites and records survey measurements and descriptive data. Selects data needed to create maps, including photos, aerial photos and satellite information, and helps produce and update maps that show boundaries or topographical information.

Job Description

Provide lease analyst support to Land Department. Process new leases, contracts, drafts and assignments including file setup, mapping and computer input. Recording, copying and transmittal of correspondence to Houston Land Administration (HLA). Monthly review of calendars (obligations, rentals, expirations, elections, etc.) with Landmen. Prepare check requests for assignments, agreements, etc. Prepare various monthly Land Reports. Follow-up on inquiries from HLA and landowners. Assist in preparation of various regulatory applications. Title research and curative as directed by Landmen. Assist in preparation of various documents. Must have 1+ year of oil and gas land experience. Must be a highly motivated self-starter with the ability to handle a heavy workload and meet critical deadlines. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, and have the ability to learn new software. Knowledge of ArcView and Dwights PI is a plus. Must possess excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. A high school diploma or GED is required. Position will be filled at a level commensurate with experience.
