Job Description

Job Title:
Geomatics Technician (CAD) GeoPoint is a land surveying company with multiple locations, specializing in land development, geomatics, geospatial mapping, commercial surveys, and subsurface utility engineering.
Summary/Objective:
A Geomatics Technician is to perform precise and thorough surveying and geomatics maps and products with a strong emphasis on due diligence, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards. This role supports land development, construction, and infrastructure projects by providing critical spatial data and insights. The Geomatics Technician ensures the integrity of survey results through meticulous data collection, research, and analysis, contributing to the successful completion of projects and the satisfaction of clients. The position demands a blend of fieldwork and office tasks, requiring technical proficiency, attention to detail, and effective collaboration with the surveying team and clients.
Essential Job Functions:
Perform due diligence research and analysis, including property boundaries, easements, and land records. Assist in the preparation of survey reports, maps, plats and drawings. Ensure accuracy and precision in all field surveying data collection prior to mapping. Collaborate with project managers, surveyors, and other team members to complete projects on time. Adhere to safety protocols and company policies during office tasks. Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies as needed. Follow company standards in the organization and creation of all survey mapping products. Keep up to date with all drafting and security software and processes.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in surveying or geomatics. Proficiency with surveying related CAD products, specifically Civil 3D. Strong understanding of surveying principles, methods, and techniques. Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills. Ability to perform due diligence research and interpret legal descriptions from various land records. Strong organizational and time management skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Regularly engage in sitting, standing, or walking activities. Occasionally handle lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling items of varying weights. Perform reaching, kneeling, crouching, bending, or twisting motions as needed. Other physical requirements may arise depending on job tasks. Work may be conducted at a desk or workstation situated in confined areas. Experience moderate levels of noise indoors and outdoors. Flexibility to work overtime and occasional weekends as required. Ability to thrive in both team-oriented settings and independently, demonstrating self-motivation and initiative.
Safety Responsibility:
Adhere to all company and regulatory safety standards and procedures. Identify potential safety hazards and take appropriate corrective actions. Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions in a timely manner. Participate in safety training and promote a culture of workplace safety.

Some travel may be required.
