Selects data needed to create maps, including photos, aerial photos and satellite information, and helps produce and update maps that show boundaries or topographical information.

Job Description Help for Job Description. Opens a new window. Performs surveying and mapping duties under direct supervision of licensed surveyor. Researches previous survey evidence, maps, deeds, physical evidence, and other records to obtain data needed for surveys used for construction, mapmaking, boundary location, and other purposes. Develops new data from photogrammetric records. Calculates mapmaking information and creates maps from source data. Determines methods and procedures for establishing or reestablishing survey control. Keeps accurate notes, records, and sketches to describe and certify work performed. Coordinates findings with work of engineering and architectural personnel, clients and others concerned with project.
