JOB DESCRIPTION
The
SURVEY TECHNICIAN
works under general supervision of a registered land surveyor or management position and utilizes the principles and practices of surveying/engineering to gather, analyze and monitor simple to moderately complex engineering-related data. Researches, files, retrieves, reviews and/or prepares a variety of engineering maps, documents, records, reports and correspondence Operates computer-aided design, modeling and/or other application programs Locates utilities, easements, property lines, and/or other information on plans Performs field investigations and/or inspections of existing conditions and new construction Collects, compiles and/or analyzes data and field samples Assists in the preparation of program and project schedules Reviews drawings for conformance with established engineering standards Performs property-related research Provides technical or functional guidance to less experienced staff Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
JOB REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge of surveying principles and practices; engineering design and construction practices; computer-aided design and other general engineering computer software application programs, including spreadsheets and word processing is required High school diploma or GED required; Certificate of completion from an accredited Civil Engineering Technology or other related technical program preferred Minimum of 5 years equivalent combination of education and experience required Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers Valid driver's license required - Must be insurable by fleet insurer, driving history will be reviewed by agent and underwriter Must be able to pass a background check as required by military, industrial, port, and other client sites. Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices

$47,244.00 - $83,757.00 per year
