Join our survey team and put your technical skills to work across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects. As a Survey Technician, you'll work under the direction of a licensed Professional Surveyor gaining hands-on experience with modern equipment and technology while contributing to meaningful deliverables from field to finish. What You'll Do Perform field and/or office survey work under the direction of a Professional Surveyor, including boundary, easement, right-of-way, route and topographic surveys Conduct deed research across various jurisdictions and assist in the preparation of legal descriptions and right-of-way plans Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot GPS and digital survey equipment and software Work with drones and LiDAR technologies with potential for future drone pilot certification Prepare field notes and sketches and read and interpret road, bridge, and utility plans, deeds, and survey plats Utilize CAD programs to process field survey data and develop existing manuscript files Submit utility locate requests and coordinate with utility owners Communicate regularly with designers and state and local agencies Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying, Survey Engineering, or related field from an ABET-accredited program (or a program otherwise approved by the Kentucky Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors) Land Surveyor In Training (LSIT) registration or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire, willingness to pursue future PLS licensure desired Experience with operating CAD and survey software a plus; MS Office Suite Willingness to travel as necessary Strong communication and organization skills Adaptable and self-motivated with a proactive mindset as well as a proactive approach to problem solving Learn More To learn more about B&N, our culture and what we offer, visit: www.burgessniple.com/careers/perks-culture Burgess & Niple is an Equal Opportunity Employer All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, age, national origin, disability status, marital status, sexual orientation, protected veteran status or any other characteristic protected by law.
