Job Description

Job Title:
Survey TechnicianJob Description We are seeking experienced Survey Field Technicians to join a dynamic team and support an active as-built survey effort on a large data center project near Ann Arbor, Michigan. This role involves field data collection, documentation, and reporting of installed utilities and site infrastructure using Trimble survey equipment and the project-specific RGK (local control grid). The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently in a construction environment and have a solid understanding of construction-phase and as-built survey workflows. Responsibilities Conduct as-built survey data collection for underground and aboveground utilities, including water, sewer, storm, electrical, and communications. Collect accurate field data using Trimble GPS and robotic total station equipment. Work within the project RGK (project-specific coordinate/grid system) to ensure alignment with design and BIM models. Maintain detailed electronic field notes and organized data files. Upload, organize, and transfer survey data for office processing and reporting. Support preparation of as-built documentation and perform basic QA/QC of collected data. Coordinate with survey leads, construction teams, and project management to confirm daily priorities. Identify and report discrepancies between design plans and installed conditions. Follow all site safety requirements and maintain assigned survey equipment. Essential Skills 2+ years of field surveying experience on construction or infrastructure projects. Hands-on experience with Trimble GPS and/or robotic total station equipment. Familiarity with as-built survey and construction documentation workflows. Understanding of RGK or project-specific coordinate systems. Ability to accurately collect, organize, and transfer field data. Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Valid driver's license. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in large-scale data center projects is a plus. Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and collaborative work environment. Work Environment The project is located in the Saline, MI area and involves a large data center during the heavy construction phase. Expect to work 50-60 hours per week, with some Saturdays as needed. The role requires a commitment to working approximately 10 hours per day. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saline, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00
