Job DescriptionTimmons Group is currently seeking a Survey Technician/Senior Survey Technician to join our Survey Group located in our Charlotte, NC office location. The Survey Technician assists in application of principles, methods, and techniques of land surveying by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Drafts subdivision plats, boundary surveys and easement plats Prepares parcel descriptionsPrepares staking maps for subdivisions, infrastructure improvements and site plansPrepares cutsheets and construction take-offsDrafts topographical surveys and creates digital terrain modelsPerforms limited courthouse researchSubmits plats for jurisdictional approvalWorks closely with the project manager and group leaderMay substitute in the field when necessaryPerforms other duties as assignedSkills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:
Bachelor or Associate degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Geography, Geospatial Information Sciences or related field or a minimum of three years of progressive survey field experienceExperience working with GPS and 3D laser scanning a plusExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, scope of services, project budgets, jurisdictional platting & submittal requirements, and procedure manualsAbility to read deed descriptions, title reports, zoning reports, survey plats, DOT plans, engineering drawings, and aerial topographic mappingAbility to understand and follow instructionsAbility to work with mathematical concepts such as trigonometry and geometryAdditional InformationThe requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.
