Full-Time We are seeking a dependable, motivated individual to join our team as a Land Survey Crew Chief / Field Technician . We are looking for candidates with land surveying experience, but we are also willing to consider individuals with strong field, construction, GPS, or related experience who are interested in developing a career in land surveying. This position involves performing a variety of land surveying work throughout southern Oklahoma and surrounding areas. The ideal candidate is comfortable working outdoors, takes pride in accurate work, and can work both independently and as part of a team.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Depending on experience, duties may include: Performing boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction, as-built, and other land surveys Operating
GPS/GNSS
receivers, robotic total stations, data collectors, and other surveying equipment Searching for and locating property corners, monuments, and other survey evidence Collecting accurate field data and maintaining organized field notes and records Performing construction staking and layout Reading and interpreting survey plats, construction plans, deeds, and legal descriptions Conducting courthouse and field research when necessary Performing basic survey calculations and field computations Maintaining survey vehicles and equipment Communicating with office personnel regarding field conditions, project requirements, and survey findings For experienced applicants, planning and supervising daily field operations and directing survey crew personnel
QUALIFICATIONS
Experienced Crew Chief candidates should have: Previous land surveying field experience Experience operating modern GPS/GNSS and total station equipment Ability to perform field calculations and organize survey data Experience with boundary and construction surveying Ability to read plats, deeds, legal descriptions, and construction plans Ability to independently manage field assignments and crew activities Field Technician candidates: Previous surveying experience is preferred but is required. Experience in construction, utilities, excavation, engineering, GPS equipment, equipment operation, or other outdoor technical work is a plus. We are willing to train a motivated individual who demonstrates good judgment, dependability, attention to detail, and a genuine interest in learning the surveying profession.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Applicants should: Have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Be dependable and able to report to work on time Be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather and terrain Be physically capable of walking considerable distances and carrying survey equipment Have good communication and organizational skills Pay close attention to detail and accuracy Be able to work effectively with others Be willing to learn new equipment, technology, and surveying procedures
