This is an outdoor position that will require you to be in areas ranging from right of ways, construction sites, agriculture sites, woodland sites, swamp, wetlands, and everything in-between.

About the
Role:
This SUE/Survey Field Technician position works with a team of field crew members to complete a wide variety of survey and utility designation projects.Projects may include boundary, topographic, right-of-way acquisition, transmission line, transportation, wetland, construction, and subsurface utility engineering (SUE) surveys as clients require.
This is an outdoor position that will require you to be in areas ranging from right of ways, construction sites, agriculture sites, woodland sites, swamp, wetlands, and everything in-between.
What You Will Be Doing:
Learn basic measurements and calculations to record field dataSupport SUE tasks in the field, including vacuum excavation (vac truck) and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) locating, along with Electromagnetic (EM) pipe & cable locating equipmentAssist Party Chief and other crew members with the daily workloadPerform utility designating and records researchDaily uploading and downloading of data collectorsOperate survey total stations, data collectors, and levelsPrepare and organize field sketches and digital photographsComplete daily checklists and timesheetsDaily care and charging of survey instrumentsOther field survey and SUE duties as assignedWhat You Bring:
Must possess a high school diploma or acceptable equivalency (required)Hands-on experience with vacuum excavation (vac truck) and/or Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) strongly preferredPrevious experience designating utilities and performing records research a plus, preferably in an engineering design environmentExperience with DOT, municipal, and/or public utility projects a plusSurveying and/or drafting experience a plus, but not requiredAbility to work in a safe manner and always obey safety regulationsStrong desire to advance your knowledge and keep up to date with upgrades in technologyAbility to communicate technical information both verbally and in writingAbility to work with minimal supervision and in a team environmentStrong organizational skills while performing field operationsMust be at least 21 years old, possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record acceptable to our company insurance provider (this is a condition of initial and continued employment) (required)Physical ability to work outdoors and on construction sites under all weather conditionsThis position may consist of standing, walking, sitting, lifting up to 50 lbs., bending/stooping, reaching over head, repetitive motions, climbing (ladders, stairs, hills, etc.), wearing personal protective equipment, and driving a company vehicleAbility to work overtime as required or travel out of town for work assignmentsOffice work may also be required on an as-needed basisCandidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company's driving (MVR) policySo...Why Join Us?You will have the opportunity to learn, grow and directly contribute to our business.
