Do you enjoy applying your technical expertise in both field and office environments while collaborating with project teams to solve challenges and maintain precision throughout every phase of a project? CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Survey Technician to join our Survey Geospatial Team in Columbia, SC . In this role, you'll leverage your surveying experience to support a diverse portfolio of infrastructure and development projects, providing technical expertise, producing high-quality deliverables, and collaborating with experienced surveyors, engineers, and project managers to ensure project success.
What You'll Do:
: Apply a thorough understanding of field and office surveying standards to collect data and prepare accurate survey plans and documents Use Land Development software to process field data, generate digital terrain models and contours, and produce high quality mapping deliverables Conduct boundary research and prepare written boundary descriptions with precision and clarity Perform and verify survey computations, traversing, layout work, and map interpretation Create and review sketches, CAD drawings, and related documentation to support project accuracy
What You Bring:
: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Minimum of 7 years of related survey experience required Proficiency with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD design software required; MicroStation, InRoads, OpenRoads, TBC, Carlson, or Civil3D experience preferred Solid communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment Strong knowledge of the surveying industry, including field survey operations, survey equipment, and data collection processes Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and field conditions, including navigating rough or uneven terrain as needed Valid driver's license required; ability to travel short-term preferred LSIT or PLS preferred

Salary Range:
: $35.00 - $40.00 Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
