Job Title:
Survey CAD Technician Job Description We are seeking a Survey CAD Technician to join our team in our Columbus office. The ideal candidate will assist in preparing survey drawings, plats, boundary exhibits, topographic maps, and construction documents using AutoCAD and Civil 3D. This role offers an opportunity to be part of a team providing complex engineering services that deliver value to our clients, fostering individual creativity, collaborative interaction, and teamwork. Responsibilities Assist with preparing survey drawings and exhibits using AutoCAD Civil 3D. Draft boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, topographic surveys, easement exhibits, legal descriptions, and construction staking plans. Process and incorporate field survey data collected by survey crews, GPS equipment, and total stations. Create survey plats, right-of-way exhibits, as-built drawings, and record drawings. Review survey notes, sketches, deeds, plats, and other project documentation, and maintain electronic project files and survey databases. Coordinate with survey crews and project managers to ensure accuracy and completeness of deliverables. Perform quality checks on drawings and survey calculations. Support project teams in meeting deadlines and client expectations. Learn industry standards, survey methodologies, and local jurisdictional requirements. Essential Skills Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D. Survey CAD experience is advantageous. Additional Skills & Qualifications Degree in survey, civil engineering, or related field is a plus. High school diploma is required. Desire to learn and grow a career within land surveying. Work Environment The role is primarily office-based with occasional site visits. The work environment is supportive, offering one-on-one training with licensed engineers. The company conducts annual performance reviews that may lead to pay increases and bonuses. Internal promotion is prioritized within the survey group. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
