In support of our client, a multidisciplinary engineering firm, ResourceTek has an immediate need for Junior Survey Field Technicians in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This entry-level position supports field and office surveying activities for engineering, transportation, environmental, and infrastructure projects. Working under the direction of an experienced surveyor and other technical professionals, the Survey Field Technician will assist with field measurements, data collection, project documentation, and the proper use and maintenance of surveying equipment. Key Responsibilities Assist the field supervisor with daily surveying activities and assignments Set up tripods over designated survey points Place survey stakes at designated locations as instructed Clear brush, trees, and other obstructions from survey lines using appropriate tools Copy, scan, and organize field notes and project documentation Clean, carry, and properly maintain surveying instruments, equipment, and tools Inspect survey vehicles daily to ensure they contain the equipment and materials needed for field operations Maintain survey vehicles, parking areas, and office storage areas in a clean and orderly condition Follow established safety procedures and instructions while working in the field Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Previous experience as a rod person, instrument person, or survey field technician is preferred but not required Previous experience in a position requiring outdoor work in varying weather conditions is highly desirable Interest in surveying, geomatics, engineering, or related technical work Ability to work outdoors and perform the physical tasks associated with field surveying Ability to follow instructions, work effectively as part of a field crew, and properly care for assigned equipment Interest in pursuing additional education or training in geomatics is highly desirable This is an excellent opportunity to begin your career in Geomatics working with a top 200 engineering firm.
